New Collection!!
Finally!! Our sculptures have arrived. After a 7 month journey we received the new collection.
We never had more delays than this time. Typical for the situation of Zimbabwe today? I don't know.
The good news is, we didn't have any broken sculptures. The new sculptures are already on the website. If you want to take a look, no problem, you're more than welcome in our garden in Noord Scharwoude.
Tribal Art
Century old traditions that are still found everywhere in Africa today gave rise to an art-form that has come forth from practicality and ceremony. Masks that symbolise supernatural entities are without a doubt the most renowned. In domestic usage there are also a lot of utilities that are made wood, stone or ather natural materials. It is not just about the ethical shaping. Also function and meaning play an important role. African objects are seldom made in the respect of `Art for art sake`! Traditional African art holds a rich cultural heritage which reflects in a unique way the beauty and simplicity thereof.
