Masks that symbolise supernatural entities are without a doubt the most renowned. In domestic usage there are also a lot of utilities that are made wood, stone or ather natural materials. It is not just about the ethical shaping. Also function and meaning play an important role. African objects are seldom made in the respect of `Art for art sake`! Traditional African art holds a rich cultural heritage which reflects in a unique way the beauty and simplicity thereof.
